Outlaw Pro Mod video from Denton on 6-4-11....
This guy did a great job filming the TOPMA show that night at Denton/North Star. He picked the perfect camera placement & angle, and I think he shot damn near every qualifying & elimination pass.
It was damn hot & the track was a little greasy during the first round of qualifying, some guys had trouble getting down the track. Clayton Pool (Wild Child Vette) got loose & unfortunately tagged the guardrail hard a few times. He said he decided to avoid running straight off the end of the track in favor of going to the right through the open field because of the large pipe running across the end of the Denton track. He really got his bell rung good, but seemed to be OK later.
The hot temps had a lot of the cars running a little off the mark, but it was still a damn great show.

Cool video. Looked as if someone poured a 55 gallon drum of 50w on it with the way the cars were squirrely

Yea, and seems he named it correctly since it has been prety much "cursed" from the start.......but his car number of "666" probably isn't helping matters either.richter69 wrote:I see the flying closet was there lol.
He threw way too much at the hot/greasy track 1st qualifying pass & shook it's nuts off at the hit. Second qualifying pass he calmed it down & it was initially on a good pass. But because it was on such a good pass he got a little greedy & decided to hit another system at half track & it started to shake to the left.
It's parked for now cuz at the next race it got it's nose crunched up a bit by Kennedale's stout guardrail......maybe it's time for a name/number change.

It was probably a combination of a few factors. Some people said the track had scraped the starting line earlier in the week, but didn't have enough time to put down enough fresh rubber before the show. But I doubt that because both lane's had a damn good looking groove with plenty of rubber. Only problem I saw with the groove was it was damn wide at the starting line because of so many people staging their cars off center or crooked.jjmstang wrote:Cool video. I think the main reason the track was so greasy was just that it was so damn hot & the sun just cooked the track good forcing the oils to the surface. One thing they could have done to help the Pro Mods was they should have run the slower index classes first that night instead of making the P/M's the first cars down the track. A later starting time on a slightly cooler track and Clayton's wreck might not have happened.

Great video Dave ! Should be named pro mods on ice. LOL. Those 4.20's and the 4.0 were impressive for sure on that surface.
