Re: UNEMPLOYMENT
I really hate to hear that. Is the entire company closing, or just your facility?

Re: UNEMPLOYMENT
Entire Company all 5 plants we are up for sale just left from our plant here boss said he might be calling some us back in the middle of next week if the sale is finallized this week.He did tell me I would be in the 1st bunch called back in but I have been hearing that for 2 weeks now.So I will draw unemployment for 2 more weeks before I start looking into something ealse. After almost 19 years in the cargo business I might look into something easle.Might even go back to school and get my cert and go to work at the local ford dealership.Maybe I can pick up some side jods and make ends meet not many jobs here making the money I made at Pace.I hate to go back to work for peanuts and have to live week to week told the wife to get a job housewife duty just ended.

Re: UNEMPLOYMENT
Man that really sucks Jim. I have had the same job for 18 years and I couldn't imagine trying to find another one. Especially from switching fields. Good luck my man.

Jim,
That really sucks balls! I guess my friend Jodie won't be buying a new custom Pace trailer from you guys. Thanks for answering all of his questions and good luck with the new job search.

Re: UNEMPLOYMENT
I don't know if you're interested in moving, but Gulfstream will be hiring 1000 people over the next five years, most of which will probably be to support the new G650 program. They are pretty selective about the people they hire, but it won't hurt to try. Here's a link to the current jobs available in Savannah. http://jobs.gulfstream.com/findJobsByCityAndState.aspx?c=savannah&s=ga

What I herd a few mins ago they may have everything finalized by tuesday they had a couple of things to get worked on the invertory we have. I was told to call in Wed. to see, if so we still want be ready for peoduction for another 2 weeks if they get it finalized. So your buddy may still be able to get a 34' like he want but it might be the winter before it get built.I don't know how fast he wants it it most of the time takes 6 weeks when custom built.Right now I got a couple side jobs so I should be able make it for a couple of week.Man Georgis unemployment you will have to have some side jobs it takes 19 working day to get the 1st check but it will be with back pay on it.I told the guy way not say a month he said it not a month I told him 4 weeks is 28 days to him minus 2 day weekend you add it up 2 weekend 5 work day 2 weekend that 9, 5 work days 2 weekend that 16 ,5 wd 2 we 23,4 wd that a tolal of 27 days you might as whale say a month.

Re: UNEMPLOYMENT
Sorry to hear that Jim....Here's hoping you find something quick!!!
We had the Fram oil filter plant close here in town, 300 folks out of work. Seems to be a lot of that going around. These folks will have a very hard time finding anything that pays close to what they were getting at Fram.

What's the chance that you and a few employees could get together and build trailers under a new name. Heck after the time you spent there you should know all the suppliers and venders.

Some of us had already talked about it just waiting to see what happens only way they will sale our plant you have to buy all 5 plants. To start just one new trailer business get set up right where you can make money and offer the options that you make the money off of your looking $250,000 plus just to get started guess what the bank don't want to loan any business loans right now in that a mount. If I could get a loan to buy all 5 plants I would buy all of them hell I could do like the last company did in a year let have back if I could show a profit in the 1st year. it will take 3 years to see any big money being made.
