Re: retirement
Doug,
That is great news. I did the same in January of this year. Take break...goof off...mess with some projects for a few months. THEN...find something that you really enjoy doing and stay very busy every day.
Your body...and mind...have been operating under some level of stress and challenge every day for almost 30 years. If you give your systems some level of stress and your mind a good challenge, you will remain healthy.
Since you must live in the Atlanta area, you and I could team up and take ALL of the money at Silver Dollar and Commerce races! I hope to see you at Silver Dollar. Just look for the old Ford.
Call any time, 678-458-2033. I am in Alpharetta.

Re: retirement
Have a good retirement . I still have 5yrs. to go. When I retire I will more than likely work 16 hrs. a day instead of 12.

I still have 10 1/2 years to go, but I'm just glad to have a paycheck here lately.

Re: retirement
I retired from General Electric after 36 years just before Christmas 1999 (best Christmas present I ever got) I'm loving every minute of it! I'm staying busy enough that I don't know how I ever found time to go to a job (LOL). I don't plan on letting the rocking chair get me! ENJOY IT!

Re: retirement
Sounds like you had a good time on your first week of retirement! Keep it up.....
Just don't eat too many of the fried tomatoes at Reynolds. Makes for a interesting ride home for an old retired guy.
