Probably a bad parent
I know a lot of people who would like to have me thrown in jail for this, but I am going to teach my children proper firearms and archery training.
This is an annual family fun day at my cousins place. Lots of kids and firearms. Some of the kids are excellent shots with all types of firearms.

I see nothing wrong there. Wish my parents had enough experience with fire arms to teach me the ins and outs.

In my opinion, it makes you good parent, spend time with your children and teach them the fundamentals. Keep it up.

Re: Probably a bad parent
i am not a big firearms fan
but that is just cause i dont like to shoot gun's
i dont have any issues with them and my kids are gonna learn
the proper way to shoot and be safe about it
i would rather have them learn from me rather than from a frend at school
but archry on the other hand
i am big inot that
i got my son a youth bow
he is almost 4 but has been shooting all summer
he can hit the target at about 5 yrd's lol
but i am shure alot would like to see me locked up also
but we are safe about it
it is better to teach your kids this stuff the rigth way when they are young rather they go to a frends house
and start playing with gun's
it dose look kinda bad with the guns on the table and the kids right next to them
but it look's like there are more than one person very close and watching
so i dont see anything wrong with it
i would say you good parent and be safe about it
and make shure they respect the gun and bow they are shooting and know it can hurt someone or even kill

Bad parent NO! Great parent YES! Start them when they understand what you are teaching them and why. Just in case you aren't, save the targets from each outing with date and name on them. Gives them some bragging rights plus an maybe an improvement that can be shown off. Even a ole shot up can can be a pretty good trophy.

Looks fine to me!! I think its great to teach kids to respect and handle gun safely and accurately. They are little sponges at that age and will listen and remember what you tell them.
Continue the great job!!

Rob,
You should be ashamed of yourself, what are you thinking?
P.S.: You know how I really feel...

Re: Probably a bad parent
I am a big proponent of hunting and shooting. I love to have people out to hunt on my place and bring their kids. I am glad that my whole family is the same way. We try to do a couple of these deals every year with one of the biggest being a Thanksgiving one at my brother in laws place. I have several freinds that ask to come out and bring their kids along and I always say heck ya. If you don't teach your kids someone else will, and I want to know what my kids are learning.

Nothing wrong with teaching your kids the proper way to handle firearms. Just think Plaxico Burress probably wishes he had been taught. I took my boys to hunter safety at the age of nine and have never regretted it.

Re: Probably a bad parent
nothing wrong with it it is just good parents place to teach there childern somethings and handling a gun is one of them in my book.My dad was carring me hunting and teaching me to shoot when I was 6 years old I used to think he only carried me to go get the squrrils when he would shoot one but he would tell me what he was doing every time he started to take a shot where he was aiming and made sure I seen what he was doing didn't realy under stand until he let me start shooting when we went hunting he would tell me a shot missed is a shot I didn't have in my box any more no just the shot I missed but one out of the ones I had with me he toke for missing if I want to shoot very much I made sure I hit when I shoot. It might sound mean but it worked and didn't shoot just to be shooting and say I missed cause that would wind up costing me two shots for one.An I beleave in teaching my own on how to shoot and handle a gun that way I know they where thought right and not someone letting them shoot and not teaching them what the meaning of handling and shooting a gun is it more than just grabing one and pulling the trigger.

My folks were always big on gun safety, I grew up with guns and my kids will do the same. My folks were also big on teaching us that if your gonna shoot an animal youre also gonna clean, cook, and eat it so youd better make it worth youre while!

My Pop taught me at a very young age how to shoot and clean guns.As teenagers me and my buddies went rabbit & squirrel hunting every season.Today I am still an avid gun collector, and I have my carry permit.Teaching kids gun saftey like you are doing is a great thing. It keeps you close to your kids, and you know they are being taught right.I love to shoot clay pigeons down at my friends house.

I think all guns should be banned....
I think all gun sales should be banned, because I got mine!!!!!
If you think you are a bad parent, you should know that my daughter has had a loaded handgun in her bedroom since she was 12. She knows how to use it, and if you want to break in and do what perves do........ she will kill you.

You should have seen the look on my daughters face when she shot a milk jug full of water with my AR15.

Careful, Rob, you'll create a monster... it's a shame .223 rounds have become so pricey!

I just about crapped when I saw bulk 1000 packs for $950 online. I can still buy 50 rnd boxes from a local gun store for about $25.

We used to buy 500 rounds for $159 not so many years ago. Wish I'd have stocked up then...
