Damn kicked a piston out of ol Moodyblues

Well the ol D0VE headed 514 gave me 8 (YES yrs of great racing. Kicked the #8 piston out of the block. Pulled heads this morning not sure what happened. Rod is intact on the crank . No warnings at all was running fine. Messed the seat up in the head quit a bit. I will get some pics tonite.

Time to build something else. Got a 499 short block ready to assemble along with a 557. I really want a 598 but my budget wont do that.

Man that sucks!!! I feel your pain tho, mine broke a rod last week.

Sure aint no fun. The lifters, rockers, and pushrods are all ok.

Definitely sucks. I found 4 of mine cracked after I tore it down for the broken lifter. They were only installed in 2001.

Yep bigger is the plan. If I go with a 598 dont think I can afford the heads and the tranny will probably have to change although it has been 5.20s.

Sorry to hear that sounds like you got your money's worth out of it though.

Nope we are staying in town, getting car back together and Dub Petty passed away so we have his funeral that day also.
