Trailer winch
What type and how thick of metal will I need to install under the flooring for a winch ( pull car back into trailer ) ? Can it be bolted in or does it need to be welded ? This is a enclosed trailer if that helps.
Thanks in advance,
John

Re: Trailer winch
I used some steel plate. I think it was 3/16" thick. Just what I had around. Prob a 9"X12" piece under the floor with holes drilled to match the winch base. The bolts are 7/16" grade 5. Works fine for the past 3 yrs.

Re: Trailer winch
we used 1/16 12x12 plate welded to cxm but as long as you have cxm on 16'' you will be fimd doing as the other has said but if the cxm is on 24'' centers I would weld it.
