Leaky valve covers
I hope someone can offer some advice, I put a set of the polished Ford Motorsport valve covers on and have yet to get them to seal properly. I've tried a couple different gaskets and checked for level on the covers but they still weep. I know I was not impressed with them using one less bolt then normal but has anyone else been down this road and have some advice? I seem to have time on my hands because after a summer of pure abuse it's developed an electrical gremlin and it's time to drag it in the shop.

Not being over-tightened, are they?

That's what I thought at first, slowly came up on each bolt in the proper pattern and still no luck. The MT covers I sold worked great, this are pretty to look at but driving me nuts.

Re: Leaky valve covers
I picked up a Set of Valve cover Gaskets from Lem that are made out of Kevlar and they worked great on ShaZam this season. Call Shawn in Parts at 877-611-2613. Ask for the Bullet Proof Valve Cover Gaskets.

I've got the same covers, used the felcoprene gaskets from FelPro and they don't leak.

Re: Leaky valve covers
I used some black 3m weather stripping glue same as the yellow but black put it on the valve cover and stuck the gaskit to the cover only and put a thin layer of oil on the gasket so it want stick to the head. They are the felpro rubber gaskets I have had them on and off a bunch with no leaks as I have a solid lift cam checking the lash on the valves.I have noy had good luck in the past with the cork gaskets they seam to seep after a while.

Re: Leaky valve covers
the black felpro's work ok if you dont take them off all the time like i do.i had leaks all year with them so i got the Cometic gaskets from Lem and put new lock washers on at the same time......no more problem!

Re: Leaky valve covers
I'm using a good set of Fel-Pros right now but with a solid lift cam also like to check the lash frequently. I think the Bullet Proof gaskets and sticking them to the valve cover like 69F100 suggested will give me repeatable good sealing.........I hope. Thank-you for all the help.
