Re: Launch sequence
Have you ever ran with the tail gate closed. I know on some trucks with the tail gate down there's more disturbance in the air coming off the vehicle.
Maybe put a little wing on the gate ?

Re: Launch sequence
Best 60' that day was a 1.63.
Back in the '70's I had a '70 Ranchero squire and at 70mph on the highway I could feel the wind buffeting against the tailgate.
The car felt smooth with it down.
Pick ups have a verticle tailgate where the Ranchero's leans forward.
I'm not putting a wing on my street car and I don't like bed covers either.
The tailgate is 80 pounds... a little more traction weight past the bumper!
I have Calvert split leaf monos, Caltracs and Rancho 9000 shocks out back and the original 351C springs (shortened 1 coil) and Calvert 90/10's up front.
Thinking about trying a few runs without the front sway bar next year.

Re: Launch sequence
Oh yeah.... dropping that front sway bar is huge. You are supposed to have 5" of front suspension travel with caltracs
That sway bar kills that.
