tnt today!
made a few good passes today at us43.i've been doen some bracket racing in the footbrake class so aint realy been tryen to get all i could out of it.halfassed "mineshaft"air today but a head wind also.second pass i hit it @ 4800 on the brake and shit went bad! i backed my shocks up 2 clicks when i was bracket racing and on the t/b it dead hooked, came up high then shook the tires hard.not so bad but the tire got into the quarter and folded it up good and eat the tire up some.pulled the quarter out and did a little body work with a grinder, tighten the shocks back up where they shoulda been and hit it again...5.47.worken ok now for a tnt track.NOW......M5 time! put a 105 pill in,back the timing up 2*and have at it.....5.43/127mph. good but did'nt realy sound like it should, almost like it was fat and did'nt heat up on the pass much.put the 2*back in and went back.....sounded ragged as hell but ran 5.39/127mph. i did'nt realy like the m5 much, mostly the smell but the motor just did'nt sound good.last pass i put the old cheap alky back in and went 5.38! what part of the M5 deal am i missing? it made the motor sound realy tame at idle and talk about response but it sounded like shit down the track.i think it's got 20's in it on plain alky in some real "mineshaft air"and a calm wind would help too.

Wow, you mean your shyt ran its best in some mineshaft air??? No way that should have ever happened lol. The idle will be higher and smoother on m5......

Re: tnt today!
not "mineshaft"............"halfassed mineshaft". the idle was smooth and i had to adj the b/v and idle to make me happy.motor sounded fat on it but i only give it .005. timing did'nt realy change it any, should i run it @ the same tune i run plain alky?richter69 wrote:Too fat.........

Re: tnt today!
With m5 i went 8 pill sizes smaller ( fatter) lower the idle speed a tad , and shorten to bv one turn (fatter) i left the timing alone. If the tune is fat with plain alky its not a big deal, get it too fat on M5 and it wont ne as forgiving and may slow down or not pick up any. Biggest gain I saw was a tenth and 2 mph, it seems n tye better air is where it would pick up that much, in the heat not so much. My buddy with athe A headed fairmont chassis car is having tye same issues, he leaned it out and it started picking up. You really need some sort of 8 egt datalogger to get an idea whats going on.

Re: tnt today!
Tire shake can make the slicks do some weird-ass shit. It can make the slicks reach out & grab/slap body & chassis stuff that you would swear was more than far enough away from the slicks.
