Re: J Y Kelly
That's not copper...at the bearing....gotta be some kind of 'magic' that green oil leaves. The tint came right off after very little rubbing with scotchbrite.

Maybe ...I can't say for sure. I will say that the bearings look great and I'd reuse them after 3 years service ....rods and mains. I.m.o. this speaks well of the billet crank, billet rods and A460 block.
Re: J Y Kelly
for sure, and it aint like he's easy on it. the tune is what made them nice bearings........and the green oil.lolLem Evans wrote:cool40 wrote:nitro leftovers

Seems to be the case
Re: J Y Kelly
Here are some pics of the rod bearings Ms mustang took. I have to give Lem and bass boat Bob a pat on the back for the "ideal" bearing clearances and balance job . This engine has had its tail ran off for the last 3 years and the bottom end looks great in my opinion.

Re: J Y Kelly
I would have to count the passes up out of my log books but I know over 400 passes. No I do not use a accusump accumulator. This engine has had about 5 passes on it with 20 - 22 % nitro.

Seems a guy don't need one if he can get a good oil pan on the engine.
Re: J Y Kelly
I have a good pan and an accumsump, my bearings looked like the ones in this thread and I reused um all this go round.
