Vintage collection
I picked up a perfect running 460 that I am gonna run for a little while. Upon taking it apart I noticed the intake manifold looked different. It's a factory iron piece but when I removed the carb I found the pad is a 4 hole square bore like the super cobra jet style. I looked in my ford books but been unable to find any info on it. My question is is this a good dual plane manifold, and is it rare? It lookes like the DOOE_Q manifold but the part number starts with D3V. I haven't seen on on a 460. Most are rodchester style or a 2 barrel.

its a square bore Autolite, very common. The other pattern is a unique autolite spread bore, more like a Themoquad than a Qjet. and there where some Carter Thermoquads on 460 in 73-74ish
The only motors that came with a actual Quadrjet are 429CJ's.

Is it a decent manifold to use?

Re: Vintage collection
Similar to an Edelbrock Performer, only Heavier. IMO better to find a decent used aluminum aftermarket manifold.
