In car Video - 7.64 @ 186 mph

the kid put the camera in the car for a pass ,that's him driving ,I'm the guy in the cowboy hat turning on the bottles and yes 7.64 @ 186mph

Guys,

Frank and I touch base with each other often, and when he told me his e.t. and speed today, I knew right away that it was his quickest ever. He's been having electrical glitches (the worst kind), that have been pulling timing out of his engine. Thankfully he found the problem, and got it fixed. I'm very happy for Frank and his son, that they have the car flying now!

In the vid you have a mirror on your passenger door, but dont have one in your avatar pic. Is it a different car or did you put one back on.. or optical illusion??

for loading/unloading purposes???

Bruno ,on that pass the 1/8 mile times were 4.901 @ 146 mph and if you listen to the motor it loves to rpm the 3 gears ! shifts were 1-2 8550rpm ,2-3 8450 rpm . I think the motor would sound sad with a 2 speed running on the converter!!

So what was the Gremlin taking out the timing?

what was causing the electrical gremlin?? if you can beleive it ,it was a broken spring in the starter soilnod and under power it was turning on the 20 degree timing retard !! base engine timing 34 ,- 11 for NOS 1st stage ,- 8 for 2nd stage = 15 degrees btdc , - 20 degrees for the start retard means the motor was getting fired 5 degrees ATDC . I had the motor all apart twice , changed converters 3 times ,trans once , tryed 3 different ignition boxes ,rewired the whole igntion system , leaked the motor 10 times , put my spare carbs on it ,leaned the motor out so far that the pistions should have leaked out the header pipes!! 3 race weekends and a month of hell trying to figure out what was going on!!!
