Best 460 cj intake gaskets
Hey haven't posted in awhile. Something broke on cylinder 4 either a piece of valve or ring land but its showing 125lbs and all other cylinders are between 160-175lbs and it beat the plug up. Anyway im pulling it apart this week and need to know what intake gaskets to run. I need cj gaskets to work with a victor and victor matched TFS streets. I've been running Felpro 1231s but im having trouble with the water ports leaking or blowing out.

I went through Summit and saw these just now. Have you used them? They are expensive but ill spend double if they work.John Myrick wrote:Fel-Pro Q1231S3 are .005 thicker and have a steel core.

No, just the 1231's. The steel core should keep them from blowing out though.

Yep those 1231's are junk, only designed apparently for short term use .. Search on here or other 460 site you'll find very common problem moving and leaking around coolant passages. The steel core ones may be better . Based on recomendations on these BB sites the Victor Reinz Nitro seals 95074SG have been excellent for me . Got mine from Carquest no probs ..
I believe also SCE and MrGaskets have given guys here good service .. Here's some info in the link from the past
