Hat Nozzles Empty Hat Nozzles

Post  STR-LGL-70 November 14th 2011, 8:17 pm

I'm looking at adding some type of fogger set up to my car and was wondering if fogger nozzles could be placed directly below my birdcatcher?
Currently its an injected alky tunnel ram deal-DOOE heads & Weiand hi ram intake ported by Engine Systems.
I already have the hat lines in place along with my port inj. lines; the hat lines are blocked off w/a plug inside the hat distribution block so they appear functional.
I know that the hit would be softer with them being this far from the intake valve but I think that they may be able to be aimed at the top of each intake runner.
Will this work?
Thanks!

I've always seen um down in the runner, the fogger nozzles that is. If nothing Steve over at Induction Solutions could steer you in the right direction.

You enriching with gas or alky? How big of a hit?

I plan on spraying gas over alky; don't have anything yet but would like to have the option of two kits and was thinking the hat nozzle location could be used.
The intake is an older Engine Systems deal; IMO has some very nice port work supposedly done together with the heads back before all the alum choices were available. The runners are also drilled(plugged) for the old N2O setup pre fogger nozzles where there was a separate line for gas & nitrous.

I run a hat injected alky setup on my BBF Comet motor.
I sent Nitrous Express my 1" hat spacer and they built a
spray bar system into it. Each spray bar is centered over
each plenum of the tunnel ram top. Its a NOS & gasoline
system. The kit is supposed to be good up to 300 HP.

I'm just finishing the car now so havent tried it at the track
yet. But I did make a couple of dyno pulls with the 150 HP
jets in it and it actually picked up 234 HP. Cant wait to try
it out on pavement! Very Happy There is a video of the last dyno
pull on YouTube:

Give Nitrous Express a call and talk to Greg. They were
very nice to work with and the kit was very reasonable.
