Why would one turn an engine 9,000 rpm when 7,400 rpm will get it done is the real question.

Lem back in the day when I ran a 302 Boss we turned them there all the time, but I was informed it couldn't be done........... so I guess my Tach was off by a couple thousand RPM......

Lem back in the day when I ran a 302 Boss we turned them there all the time, but I was informed it couldn't be done........... so I guess my Tach was off by a couple thousand RPM......
I hear you but the context here is BIG inch BBF. Don turns his 400" SBF stuff 9,400...that's what it takes to get it done.

It's a matter of not having the option of a 638" engine and/or having the wrong grears for a given track.....
