my bro inlaw.has.a.428.cj motor.im.trt to get him.hooked.on drag.racing.im going to let him run my 83 gt w/oThe.nos.
Then once.he.is hooked ..he.got.the.money.as i.will show.you just some.of.his car.
Plus.not onlt hes my boss.ans i woek on his high dollar cars .hes.also my boss

Any motor can be bored and stroked.

Yes a FE can be installed in a Fox Body.

They can make decent power, but are expensive compaired to a 429/460 and you will get now where near the Displacement or power from one that you can get from a 429/460.

Cost wise a 445" 390 motor is about the cheapest your going to build in a FE as far as strokers in stock blocks.

No that is not a good price, $300 for 3 blocks would be a decent price though!

I am sure a bunch of people will correct me if I am wrong but I believe you can build a ~500 cubic inch stroker with a 428 crank in a .060" over 427 block. It used to be a common combo. FE's are expensive though but The 429-460 can get expensive as well.

454" at .030, Have any 427 blocks laying around for $300?

.060 is a bad idea on most factory 427 blocks.

Good 427 blocks are expensive and hard to find, I bought several and scrapped many of them looking for a good one. I finally wised up and sold all the fossil parts and started buying 385 parts. You can build 2 strong 460's for the money it costs to build a comparable FE.

With a 427 FE.... Better to just get a Genisis Block @ about $3500 to start with, unless your doing a Factory Correct Restoration and even then the genisis stuff looks correct for a side oiler application. 352/360/390 blocks are pretty plentyful and 428 stuff though less plentyfull but not rediculus to find a good one.

Dave this is what he said he found for $300/each not FE blocks I can buy compete running engines all day long for that price.

Point was a 427 ford is going to be one hell of alot more $$$ vs a stock block 460 build.

Most places in the country you won't get a complete 460 in good running condition for $300 now days, sometime's you'll get a complete rebuildable core. IMO $300 for a cleaned and Inspected block isn't awfull, but for a rusty unknown block, your right its expensive. $75-$150 is more inline.

But with some of the deal's floating around right now..... it's cheaper to just buy something done and running, rather than building a lower end engine.

429/460 bare blocks go for $100 each around here in good cond.

I'm suprised Damon Sea hasn't posted since he had a 428 in his Fox Body Mustang years ago.
