466 bracket build
I am in the finishing stages of my bracket build.
It is a very stright forward build.
Stock 3.85 cast crank cut 010-010.
D1 block +030.
Eagle H beam rods and TRW pistons with the domes milled off.
The heads are small valve home ported D0VE.
Cam is a solid flat tappet 255-265 @ 050 on a 108 lobe.
I am using a weiand stealth intake and an adapter for a dominator.
Ignition will be from a msd distributor and 6-AL.
Exhaust will be Hooker super comp headers.
Behind the engine will be a C-6 with a PTC 10 inch converter.
The rear end is an 8.8 with 3.73 gears and a spool.
Suspension is UPR upper and lower control arms and anti roll bar, with Competition Engineering 50-50 shocks.
The body is an '87 coupe that has the frames conected and a 8 point roll bar.

Re: 466 bracket build
looks real close to my old 472 build, only exception was I had a victor intake, left the domes and ran a 1050 Rupert alky dominator.............would run 10.40s all day in the heat @3350#s
Should run well..............

Re: 466 bracket build
Thanks for the welcome and look forward to meeting all the BBF owners in the area. This is my first BBF build since 83! I had a 70 429 Torino GT in high school and went a little nuts with it. Than I bought a brand new 88 GT and went a little crazy again with it and ruined a 2 year old car going drag racing with it for fun. It ran 10.90 @ 123 on pump gas with a little 306 back in 90 before I sold it for a song.
But I had fun
Hope to see you around

Re: 466 bracket build
Well I got it on the run stand in the afternoon, then the Gang showed up and with lots of help we got the motor ready to fire up.
Water pump, fuel pump, fans, and ignition. We put some gas in it and all that was left was water.
Thank God it was on the run stand. As I was filling it water started pouring out of the timing cover. I drained it and now I have to pull the water pump and timing cover and seal up the leak.
I wanted to hear this thing run.
And no, those are not the headers that will be going in the car.
Thanks to all the guys. Blake, Don, Red (Daniel), and Stephen.

Re: 466 bracket build
Last night I pulled the drain plug for the front sump. Good news, no water in the oil. I removed the water pump and got all the timing cover bolts off. All that is left is the harmonic ballancer.
I will replace the gaskets and lots of rtv. Hope to fire it if I don't have to work Saturday.
Tennessee is getting severe weather today so I got out of work early. I think that we may be flying the Governor and emergency management people around. Stay safe everyone in the tornado zone.

It's nice to start the engine and check for leaks or problems before you put it in the car.
I have a huge Hydraulic pump off of a concrete truck I am thinking about doing a deal to allow me to load the engine and seat the rings before going to the dyno.
