I use a 53' semi trailer to haul my junk up to Sturgis SD every year for the mud drags at the bike rally. 10hrs one way. Oh yeah, we do drink a little beer up there, and for the brave ones a little beverage called Cheez Whiz.

What's the damage on the cabins? Gonna bring the wife and 2 kids. Debated on tenting it like we normally do, but think a cabin with a bed would be nicer after playing in the dirt. We are doing the same with the week vacation. What dates you gonna be there Bruno? I'll bring a bunch of venison for dinner!

A little bit about our town. We have a population of around 11,000 people. As was mentioned earlier, David Crockett State Park is our main tourist draw. There are several hotels as well as eateries. Very nice, clean community.
Thanks,
Andy Hunt

Yeah, and how will the dirt drag's be teched? Out East, there really is no tech beyond a few specific items they check for (i.e. drive shaft loops, scatter shields, helmets) but there is no cert requirement on cages. Just wanna be sure my junk will be ok to hit the dirt.

Re: Big block Ford replacement race.........June 22-23ird US-43 DRAG WAY
Unfortunately, the dirt drags will have to be cancelled. After looking at our insurance policy, this type of competition isn't covered under our current policy.
We aren't affiliated with either IHRA or NHRA, we have insurance through a private company.
Current chassis tags won't be required, but standard safety items will be checked.
Thanks,
Andy

Tell us what you check on a weekly basis during your normal bracket races. There should be nothing extra beyond that for this race. Should be like the promoter extrodinaire Mike Franks says, "come on in, we will tech your billfold!"
Re: Big block Ford replacement race.........June 22-23ird US-43 DRAG WAY
Our normal tech is very simple.
Belts in good condition
Radiator overflow catch can required
Below 8.00, helmets required
Below 7.50, roll bars required
Below 6.50, jacket required

Re: Big block Ford replacement race.........June 22-23ird US-43 DRAG WAY
Guys Andy will have the layout of the schedule and classes maybe this afternoon.
Also PM me pictures of your cars and I will have Andy or Russell make up fliers for us to hand out for the race.
Sorry but there will not be a dirt drag this year, they can't because of the insurance regulations.
Anybody that would like to sponsor a class or maybe more please contact me. Andy is ready to start handling that now.
Thanks..............

Re: Big block Ford replacement race.........June 22-23ird US-43 DRAG WAY
Any updates with classesd and a schedule of times for Friday and Sat?
Barring any mechanical issues, or wrecks, we will be there with a SBF powered Mustang. Since schools out my kids will be coming along as well. Anybody else bringing their kids?
