In regards to Jack Empty In regards to Jack

Post  bbf-falcon March 5th 2012, 1:01 pm

Sooz and I have been in Florida since the 24th of Feb so the Vacation has helped. But alot of people have pm'd me in regards to my Little Buddy Jack (my Jack Russell dog)thats in my signature now. Jack was almost killed about 2 yrs. ago by our Boxer and since that time we have kept them seperated because of their hatred toward each other. 2 days before we were to leave on vacation,Sooz was in the garage w/the boxer and Jack was in the house. Some how the kitchen door did'nt get latched and Jack walked into the garage and was attacked by the Boxer again. It was a terrible ordeal again like before but this time Jack's vertibrae was crushed and it was lieing against his spinal cord. We rushed him to the vet and they sedated him.The next day they run xray's and the vet said they could do a operation that would cost between $3k to $5k w/no guarantee's of him walking again, and he would have pain the rest of his life. Jack was 11 yrs. old and we could'nt bare to see him in so much pain.So we made to only humane decission to have him put down. The boxer was also put down for the reason that when we had our little grand daughter at the house,he would try to get out of his cage to get to her. So we could'nt take that chance of something like that happening to her. It has been a tough time, but it is starting to get easier. I want to thank all that has ask what happened and were concerned. Unless you have never had a animal that you loved so dearly, you could'nt possibly understand the loss.
Thanks again
Rick & Sooz

I feel ya, We had a cat put to sleep about a year ago, we had him for about 14yrs, he had a respiratory condition and was struggling to breathe all the time, was no sense in letting him suffer like that. He was a mean asshole cat, but still..............

Damn tough thing to do.

Really sorry to hear that Rick, it is so easy to get close to animals that they seem almost human. I've had two boxers and both of them were really mild mannered. My oldest boy had a Jack Russell and it was really smart, they are great dogs. Best regards to you and Sooz.

It's a rough time making that decision, and you can tell yourself it's the right thing to do, but it doesn't ease the pain. Very sorry for you and Sooz, I've done it, and probably will have to again. It's a heck of a job having pets, but it does add something to life that can't be explained. Get a new pup and start over again is the best medicine for the soul. Sad Never heard of boxers being that way. We have one and he is about as timid as a church mouse, but you can tell he is protective of the family.

We appreciate all the thoughtful remarks guy's.They are truly appreciated. Jack was at every race that me and Sooz attended since he was able to walk. He made great friends all across the country w/his Cocky and cute attitude. He will truly be missed by family and racers alike.I will post some pic's of him and some of his racer friends later on.

Rick,

So to hear about Jack, man to get attacked by the Boxer again had to be real tough on you and Suzie.I know Jack was a tough little guy to fight through being attacked the first time.I bet it would have been real tough to fight through it again.Sorry about your loss i know he was like a family member to you and Suzie,Later Mark.

Sorry to hear about Jack, at least I got to see him not too long ago, tell Suz I said I was sad to hear about him.

It's amazing the personality's pets can have , he was a cool little guy, Humming bird body and an alligator attitude. My cousin had one for years and he wasn't scared of anything either.

Only thing I can say is I'm glad the Jack Russell's don't weigh 150 lb, they would be the baddest dog on the planet.

You and Suz hang in there................. Wink

Dave,

Yes but he does have a little shepard in him. We inherited him from Tracy's Mom & Dad.

Jack was always the center or attention at the Bash Cool
