I have a 71 Mach 1 I'm getting closer to starting work on that has been in storage for awhile.
When I bought the car it was being parted out and the doors, clutch pedal assy and front fenders were alreay gone but everything else is mostly there. It's a F code 302 2 barrel 3 speed car and came w/# matching eng/trans.
I also have a couple M code 351 C engines,4 speed top loader w/McLeod bell. Boss 351 Clone?
Have Dooe-R heads on my 70. factory finned Valve covers and DoveA std bore block in garage.........429 SCJ clone?
Or restore original??

Absolutely, you MUST restore that powerhouse 302 2v.




I'm kidding. Either the Cleveland or 429 would be great. A 351C/5 speed would be a blast too, but it all depends on how hard it is to find the pedal assembly.

429 4 SPEED, NOTHING ELSE LEFT TO TALK ABOUT.

I have a j code,and sold my R code 71 2 years ago, love the 71's

A 302 car isn't worth much, I'd do a 429 SCJ Clone with a 557 stroker short block and a TKO600 5 speed.

I would agree with Dfree ,go BBF and a stick.The old 302 ain't no big attraction ,and if someone wants the original wow factor .You got it laying back.
