need some help
I am working on the 65's front end.It is a strut front end that use's a mustang /capri style strut. The lower contols arms are nice pieces. The problem I have is they have a piece on the outer end, nearest to the wheel. It is like a heim joint end but with no threaded part.Only the bearing portion it is held in place with with a snap ring. I've had no luck finding these I think they are a common piece because I had asome old lower arms from another car and it has the same pieces but they are wore out. Am I calling them the wrong thing ???? any thoughts where I can find them? demensions are center hole is for 1/2 bolt outside of bearing case is 1 1/4 inch It is .625 in thick. Thanks for any help.

Re: need some help
You can ask for that, but I would just explain what you have and maybe email them a picture and that would give them all the info I would think to help you.
Re: need some help
I usually refer to a rod-end/heim joint without the threaded shank as a spherical bearing/spherical bearing joint.

Re: need some help
That's not it .It is a full motion ball type end just like a heim joint but has flat machined shoulders and is held in by a snap ring. Some of the high end shocks use this type of bearing only smaller.cool40 wrote:this maybe? http://www.rjracecars.com/Spherical-Bearing-7500-MM-AUR-GE50ET2RS-Prodview.html
auoria bearing has some that I think will work.Ya'll should check that out they have a bearing for anything. I ordered a bearing from speedway that may be the right one so I,m waiting on it to get here if it is not right I will pull the out of the car so I will have it in my hand when I call auoria.I'll photo it and put it up here.

Re: need some help
I had not thought of that .I would rather do it with the right bearing if I can,but that is a option that will work.Barney wrote:Could you modify it to have a nut welded on it then just use a regular joint?
According to the bearing place the right nae is spherical bearing end .

Re: need some help
I think that spherical bearing in the link might be a low angle unit for their big bore anti-rolls.cool40 wrote:this maybe? http://www.rjracecars.com/Spherical-Bearing-7500-MM-AUR-GE50ET2RS-Prodview.html
I'm guessing your looking for something like one of these off the Aurora site?
Is there a number on the bearing you have?
