I am going in a different direction with my engine build so I dont need most of my short block. I have a 1971 429 block with a fresh block fill and bore job to 4.5in with new brass freeze plugs and cam bearings ect. Also have a new set of BRC flat top pistons for A heads that are installed in the block but never run. One set of aluminum childs and alberts nos 6.7 inch rods on the pistons and installed at this point, that have 5 200ft passes on them with new bearings, erson roller cam and lifters. Im basically pulling my billit 4.5 crank out of it as well as oil pump and pan and selling the rest. may do some trading for some stuff I need.LMK

I really dont know what was used. I need to dissasemble the short block and get a better look myself. As far as rings they are what were sent with pistons for an N/A deal on alchy. I bought this from a buddy of mine and had to pick it up from machine shop cause he couldnt pay the bill and it was already assembled and waiting.

Figure a price. If Dave don't get it I'd be interested in the short block!

I need to pull it apart and get a part# off the pistons to see exactly what I have. The crank is not for sale but everything else is. When I pull it down I can get some pics also. Im going a max effort deal with bigshot, that is why I dont want to run this block and camshaft and pistons ect. Let me know if you want some specifics and I will see what I can do.

Thanks Chris

All I really need/want is the block so as long as its solid with no damage to it, we can work a deal.

I would have to say now that I have the pistons out, that they may have been atleast fired up in an engine but the skirts dont have any wear on them, they look new but some small signs of being ran for aleast a couple minutes.

Wow, that must be a rare block to go 4.5 and have that much meat left. If Freelander don't work a deal, lemme know and we can see.

I dont have the sonic sheet as it was lost in the house fire. As I posted earlier, I picked the motor up from machine shop already assembled cause my friends house had burnt and he needed some quick money so I bought it. I verified what he told me with a digital brake caliper.I know it sounds funny but the way the caliper is desined, u can get down into the water jacket as well as the cylinder and get a good square reading from inside and out at 3 diff locations of cylinder. every cyl was .180-.200 thick.
