Got a race to win! Empty Got a race to win!

So on June 17th a bunch of guys are renting SIR in Tucson for a private test n tune, one of them is my a friend of mine and invited me to go and run with them. I've never raced at the track before and I will be taking the Ranchero. I don't know what kind of safety equipment I'll need but from what I've seen from online race calculators I should be in the mid 13s to the high 12s with what I have. I think my biggest hurdles will be traction and getting the launch just right but any other advice would be greatly appreciated Smile. My goal is to give my buddy a really good view of my tail lights but I'm wondering what kind of competition his SN95 mustang is gonna give me, it's got the 4.6 2v and an auto and some slicks but I'm fairly certain his car is mostly stock whereas I have my built 400, stock FMX and stock converter, and 3.25 rear gears.

Hard to tell. Race weight and traction will play a big part. If its a plain jane 2v mustang then they are slower than dirt.... Good Luck

I'd be willing to bet since you've never been to the track that your Ranchero with a 400 and a 3.25 gear will never even get close to high 13's.That gear will kill you with a heavy vehicle...Just sayin!

Go have fun win lose or draw, it takes lots of practice to get good at dragracing. The upside and the downside to heads up dragracing is it's more addictive than crack! Wink cheers

x1000. Drag racing is stupid. If I didn't have to support my racing program then I'd be living life with arab money Cool
