we got a Charlemagne (sp) bull about a year ago and he has put down about 10 calves and we had new heifers that were late ....btw im far from a farmer , just enjoying the country life

I would bet that it is a Charlois bull, pronounced (shar lay). Charlois is French for big, white haired, unintelligent, spooky cow.
