Re: wes litrell ???
Working on it Nick.I never had so much bad luck at one time.Ripped a $500 driveshaft in half last friday.Always had built my own out of junkyard parts, thought I would have a nice c/m one built for peace of mind and this happened.Had 8 passes on it was in the middle of the burnout and as soon as it started to grab traction it rung it off right in the middle. It beat things up somewhat and broke my tranny case and bent my output shaft.I'm trying to get it back together for friday. After talking to another driveshaft builder I'm going back to mild steel. He said in something heavy with a lot of torque he had seen a lot of failures with c/m.They use .083 mild steel in the heads up 2000+ hp cars.Hope I don't have any more problems.Kinda gunshy now.If I can get this thing lined out on it's own power I might try to put the spray on it and join the party. If anybody has any input on the driveshaft let me know. All I know is homemade junkyard shaft never failed in over7 years c/m failed in 8 passes.
