Re: The New BBF Alternative
I agree it's neat, good alternative to a 2v mod motor.

What do the heads flow on the 6.2L motors? Stock and ported?

Here's some stuff to look at:
http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f76/livernois-motorsports-6-2l-raptor-products-1232/
Ported heads flowng 343 cfm. Stroked to 400 cubic inches. Looks really good. However, as mentioned, it seems more like a modern SBF than a modern BBF. At least in terms of dimensions and usage.

Re: The New BBF Alternative
I looked on fleabay last night and there was a half dozen of these in the $4k range. So they are still pricey. The way I see it is there are two factors that will make or break this for a hot rod motor.
1. They need to put a boat load of them in Ford trucks that will end up in junk yards in a few yards. This will make the value of them become really cheap just like the Chevy 6.0l truck motors.
2. There will have to be some support as far as an intake (and maybe heads/cams) goes. If you have to buy a $3-5k efi system for it they will never take off in popularity.
The reason the GM 6.0l took off is they are piled up in junk yards. You can buy them for less then $1000, add a set of heads/cam and carb intake and make 500-600 hspr for around $3-4k. I sure hope they do because I am sick and tired of losers swapping 6.0l into Mustangs.

No it is a V-6 with two turbochargers. Maybe some are making the argument that you no longer need a big block, know Ford is pushing it as a replacement for 4.6 and 5.4 V-8's.

The Megasquirt is a good low cost option for running the newer fuel injected stuff, as well as dealing with the COP ignitions.

When I see a small turbo gas motor lasting 200k with 10k on the back I'll be interested. Till then its not a replacement for a big V8 for a 5.0 0r 5.4 it may be a replacement.
Do they make power, yes, they also make alot of heat and stress on parts. And don't for get that option price is about 50% of a Diesel in a F250, It isn't cheap.
