Racing Tip of the Day
Went racing at Mooresville Dragway this weekend, tested on Friday, raced on Saturday. I won first rnd, just as 2nd rnd began they had an electrical problem with the timing system they were unable to repair and had to call off the race.
I made a test pass Friday night. Coming back up the return road I saw the water temp almost pegged. My brand new Mezeire water pump wasn't working. Checked the fuse, it's good, replaced it anyway, still not working. Installed my spare pump, it's not working either. Back to the switchpanel with the testlight. Figured out that the fuse was loose in the female clips that hold the fuse.
So if any of you guys have a switch panel that uses the flat fuses. Make sure the fuse is fitting snug in their holders. Give them a little squeeze with a pair of needlenose pliers for good measure.

Good tip. I had a similar thing happen with my painless switch panel. It was my Nitrous arming, I pulled out of the water box and went to turn my nitrous on and the switch didn't light, it was exactly the same thing.

I use a Trick Cable and Switch panel that uses breakers, all wires soldered and heat shrinked, all relay connectors soldered etc, I dont use fuses anywhere, just the breakers................cant say I've ever had an electrical issue. Treat the stuff like it going into space lol.

I used to use a lot of spade fully insulated connectors and quite often if you weren't careful the male spade would push in next to the female end and not into the center of it creating the problem you had. I am always super careful to make sure the male part is started in the female end before inserting fuses or connectors. Once they are in you can't see if you missed or not.

Nice Dave. At least you got after it and fixed it at the track!
