Timig Retard and Wheel Slip
Is there any benefit of retarding the timing at launch?
I'm kind of thinking traction control. I purchaced the MSD AL6-2 but didn't get the one that you lock out the dizzy and program in the advance. Maybe I should have?
Any ideas here?
I found this but it's a lil too expensive.. http://www.moretraction.com/dragracing.htm

If a car won't hook & spins, taking timing away from the optimum setting can help by killing some power. You also take timing away at the launch for nitrous use.
Davis's real time automated traction control is what some of the ADRL guys are finally admitting to using. Just don't get caught using it at an NHRA/IHRA event, but at an ADRL event it's legal in some classes (for now).

I'm sure you can buy an add on for the 6al box to take timing out, it may require a micro switch or some sort of trigger for it to determine a low gear activation.
