The woody is now a 514
Pulled the woody in the garage Friday with a 460,tore the motor down and put it back together as a 514 and was driving it this afternoon.I got a good deal on a 514 std bore crate motor guts.Guy wanted to go bigger,so he sold me the internals for $500.It all looked like new.Wished I would have had it for the race.I'm anxious to see how it compairs. It has more down low for sure. If I didn't drive it so much I would switch the 2.47s out for 3.50s.They were worth a half second in the eighth with the 460.

That's awesome Wes. Pretty hard to pass up a $500 deal. Do you have PC heads on it?

Great ... I didn't realize it would happen so soon when you were talking about it at the "shootout".
You need to find around a 2.90 to 3.00 gear somewhere for a more rounded compromise...

I've got a set of 2.75 and 3.00 I might try or I might just say the heck with it and put my 3.50s back in .The mileage was about the same, but it is more pleasant with to drive with the high gears.rmcomprandy wrote:Wes Littrell wrote:Pulled the woody in the garage Friday with a 460,tore the motor down and put it back together as a 514 and was driving it this afternoon.I got a good deal on a 514 std bore crate motor guts.Guy wanted to go bigger,so he sold me the internals for $500.It all looked like new.Wished I would have had it for the race.I'm anxious to see how it compairs. It has more down low for sure.
