the c heads just don't seem to like the methanol , its consistent just don't want to run on the top end like it should.

There's probly some left in it. Seems to still favor the right a bit. I like it.

thats why injection systems are set up with a high RPM lean out, the induction path gets so cold (and heads) the evaporation of alcohol diminishes, and the system tends to run richer.

I got a high speed Kim , gonna have to put a little preload in it Barney raising the wheelie bars helped , but not enough. Lee its just not responding much to tuning changes and I feel i got too much compression to use the nitro . I think the rpm this engine is wanting to turn is exceeding the burn rate of methanol.

I just wonder if MFI can meter the Q good enough...............I know EFI can but thats another can of worms.
I bet it would haul serious ass with a tunnel ram and a pair of QF's on it along w Q in the tank..............

Oh hell ya. It would be a heck of a scooter with one QFX on the cast single intake.
My deal quit making more steam just under 7K on the dyno, but it wasn't backing up much either. Would have been fun to see where it layed down.

I know a guy with a TrickFlow tunnel ram, ported by Charlie to match his adapters, a set of Charlies adapters and a pair of gas Dominators...you know him too Randy!!! Got the TrickFlow linkage a new MagnaFuel regulator and the fittings to go with it too!...let me know if your interested, it's clogging up his dining room!...
He's got a single four C manifold as well, already drilled for the giggle juice...

I might be interested in your headers if they would fit Nevs i am going to stay with injection , i ran the q through the injection with the p51 engine and it worked fine. I just dont want to add the weight of that tunnel ram thanks for the offer though.

Re: video from sikeston
mine realy liked the holmes t/r with the hat. the toilet system i was running on the ex514 intake may not be the best to compare to but the hat and t/r was faster by more than a tenth first try.

I bet the added weight wouldn't bother it much lol.

You got the Extra weight of the manfold 2 carbs and the extra plumbing and regulators , and the 2 carbs will not out flow the injector so i see nothing but extra weight to pack .

try it,you'll like it! you could put a carb full of Q on top of a custom spacer plate with spray bars in it.....KY JELLY wrote:You got the Extra weight of the manfold 2 carbs and the extra plumbing and regulators , and the 2 carbs will not out flow the injector so i see nothing but extra weight to pack .

Re: video from sikeston
Randy, if the car is currently launching a little to the right, (but still driving straight as an arrow on the top end), you might want to think about correcting the launch with a little wheelie bar height stagger instead of some 4-link preload.
On the other hand the right-launch might also be caused by a possible problem with the wheelie bars themselves. In the videos they do seem to wobble around/side-to-side a decent amount as you stage & deck it (and as they hit the ground). Wheelie bars that can wobble/walk around under load can sometimes cause some strange things to happen & possibly steer the car around.
But if it's going to the right both at the launch & on the top end, then that does point more to a side-to-side preload/roll out problem. Or possibly the new engine combo is currently down on torque/power just enough to not work as well with the old side-to-side preload settings.
