roller bearing c6 power difference
So my question is if you have a stock C6 and put a e40d 6 pinion planetary gear set in it and put roller bearings in it how much power does it free up or what % of power do you gain???

Seeing is believeing ' so here is a good thing to do with clean parts of the same working condition. Set the reverse planet sets up on the tabel and put a light amount of trans fluid on it then put your thruts washer and bearing in place then set your sun shells on. Then give them both a spin and see which one spins freeer and which one is easier to spin.

Re: roller bearing c6 power difference
i dont see how that helps with the question. I would assume under load of racing with a 500hp big block it would have to free up something.? but i dont know ...

What whitefield says is exactly how it is . Under load the clutch drums etc are all thrust back , not unlike how he described to compare the two.. The rollers make the whole internals spin over much freer.. Some guys report that they pick up E.T , as for a power figure i think it'd be hard to measure , but the test above illustrates the difference nicely

I asked the same ? awhile back.

I rollerized my c6 several years ago. It's amazing how much easier you can spin it by hand.
Frank emailed me the direction for doing the mods a couple years before he posted them. It's easy and cheap if you have access to a lathe.

I used a bunch of E40d parts to make mine work... no machining... seems ok so far...

Keith I think the #9 setup is from the E40d. The rest of my deal was stock C6 parts except for the Torrington bearings.
I believe the the close ratio setup for the C6 uses other E4od parts.
bigunitmudracing must be running the close ratio deal.

I bought my trans from PATC and they claim 43% increase in torque plus the lower first and second gear ratio.
