Sturgis Drags

Made the annual pilgrimage up to the drags in Sturgis SD again this year. I was the only Pro Stock truck out of NE to go, but a couple of our Sportsman trucks went up and were allowed into their Super Stock class. On Sunday, the track was a wet sloppy mess, and they kept adding water all day. Didn't do so well, lost one, won one, and lost again. The truck wasn't coming up on the engine like it has in the past and pulled the plugs after the race and they didn't look too bad, but called Lem, and he said to ditch them and put in some new ones. On Tuesday, we went to a new track north of town about 15 miles, and they had a hard hooking track that was absolutely perfect for my truck. I never lost a race, and when it came down to the end I tied with another guy. I was sleeping a little on the line. We came back around and I sawed down that tree and got the win.

Way to go. I'm gonna have to make that trek out one time to play with the "big boys" out there.

Just wasn't quite the same without the "Nebraska Mud Mafie" there. Maybe next year again. We'll be having fun up your way on Labor Day weekend though.
