What Should it Run??
Instead of going back to my 501 Stroker.. I was thinking of running just a 460 in my 1989 back halfed/ladder bar Ford Mustang that weighs around 2800lbs with me in it and the following Mods..
D1VE/D9TE Block Bored .30 over (466)
Comp Cam .715/.710 lift
6.605 H Beams
Stock Crank
Blue Thunder Heads
Approx 13:5-14:1 Compression
Crower Roller Lifters
Edelbrock Victor 460 Dominator Intake
1050 Holley Dominator Carb
Powerglide
5300 Stall
Ford 9"
Strange Spool with 4:30 Gears
C12 Fuel
Sure I'm missing a bunch.. but I was hoping for the car to run around 9.60-9.70's@136-138mph.. just about where it was with the 501.. Can it be done?.

My mustang went 6.21 saturday night in the 1/8 @ 109mph at 3080 lbs. with a .060 460 with dove-c heads that's been together since 2004 ,that'll translate to around 9.80 in the 1/4

Wow!..Sweet ET..What Compression ratio?.Sounds like you've had some good luck with it being together since 2004.

Not sure on compression. It's got flat tops and 72cc heads. It has been good to me,and to my driver now also!If it survives this season ,hopefully we'll pull it and freshen it up

It's won a bunch of money and races.I hope to put it in another block this winter,I'm sure it'll need a bore job. It's as fast as the car needs to be anyway.

Re: What Should it Run??
I had a 472 w stock crank and block, H beams, heavy ass trw dome pistons, some TFS streets w minimal work, sold roller, victor intake, alky injected. ran 9.60's in the heat at 3100 #'s
this was with a good c4 but if the converter is right it should be faster anyway w the glide.

I had Ross Pistons in the 501 before the lifter let go and ruined everything.. Think I may try a set of Probes this time round... with maybe 13:5 or 14:1 Compression Ratio??..not sure what to go with..I only plan on using C12
