BBF wins 8 second class
Ronnie Smith won the class today. 1 X 4 gas A460 engine vs. a field of BBC blown alky boats.
This is the semi-final race.......Ronnie is the black boat in the outside lane.

Always the week before Labor Day........for the Livermore, Ky race.
Re: BBF wins 8 second class
It seems that a nasty BBF sounds just as good on water....maybe better than pavement. Most people that do not like the sound are the ones watching out their window....as it motors by.....at the finish line..
Nice video!
Nice win!

Those boats are bad ass!! I was at JetBoat Bob's yesterday and we watched some more video's .The take off on some of them are unreal, one of them jumped the whole boat out of the water on the launch.Really impressive to see them run an 8 second 1/4 mile on water from a dead stop.I thought they had a running start, not these Cats!!!Totally Awesome,I'll be there next year to watch them!!

Re: BBF wins 8 second class
To clarify, the drag boats do get a running start 125 ft behind the starting line beam. This allows them to get onto plane before making the pass down the track.56Tbird wrote:I thought they had a running start, not these Cats!!! Totally Awesome, I'll be there next year to watch them!!
And yes, it is totally awesome.

Very proud of Ronnie. He is on fire. Lem and I worked very hard on his combo over the winter and it is great to see it paying off!

Re: BBF wins 8 second class
Thanks for clarifying that Paul. I saw where they lined up on the rope, but their actual start timer is 125 ft. ahead of that. I thought it looked like a long 1/4.That's still awesome!!
