460 Industrial
I am new to the site. Purchased a 1992 F-250 with 5-speed manual tranny and 460 said to be rebuilt from a hay bailer. What do I need to know before I install performance enhacing equipment? How are the industrial engines different from the F-250 model? The truck runs fine until I try to haul my 28.5-foot camper trailer up into the Big Horns, and gets between 13 and 14 mpg on high test for normal driving.

No Kidding! My 97 F350 Crew Cab 460 Dually acts like it's got a hole in the gas tank! Maybe 8 or 9 towing 24' tag trailer.

Hmmmm. Maybe I will leave it alone. Do either of you think bolt-ons to improve air flow in (K&N?)and out (Flowmasters?) would be worthwhile?

The K & N might help a little, but the Flowmasters will only get you "that signature sound". There are better muffler choices if FLOW is what you're after. JMO.
