56 Ford Mainline
I have had this 56 Ford for the past 7 or so years. It is a plain jane bottom of the line car. Six cyl, three on the tree, no radio or anything. I initially replaced the 223-6 cyl with an 89 5.0l/C4 I had from my Pinto. I've slowly been working on odds and ends over the years and now I am getting ready to do a 460 swap so I figured I would start a build thread here.
Here it is right after I brought it home from Rice Texas.
Out with the old.
In with the new.
Last year I upgraded the cooling system and added an A/C condenser for future improvements. I moved the rad ahead to make room for the future big block as well.
Before.
After.
Recently I picked up a 460 from Ward. It has TFS heads, solid roller cam, forged pistons. It was in his 66 Mustang when he bought it. It came with the C6 in the background.

Re: 56 Ford Mainline
I ordered swap mounts and headers from Crites.
When I did the 302 swap I built a 2 1/2" mandrel exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers and a Mac ProChamber. As you can see it was a few years ago.
So now I have a pile of 3" U and J bends for the BB system. I am also going to try the new DynoMax VT mufflers. I like the sound of the Magnaflows but they have a terrible drone. You can also see my Borgeson Power Steering box I scooped at Summit on their scratch and dent tables.

Neat build. Keep us posted. We are doing a 57. But staying with a 5.0.
