used gear sets?

anyone ever use some nascar take-off ring and pinions?

Not first hand, but you only want to buy from the top teams. The bottom 20 are already buying the used stuff from the top 10.

These are from Roush/Fenway racing. Just don't know if the gear material would be good for drag racing.

Not for Pro Mod or top fuel. Just kidding. If you can run street gears, these will work for you.

If the used NASCAR gears are made of the standard 8620 alloy material then they should be perfectly fine for street/highway use, and also OK for some strip use if the car's at launch power/torque numbers aren't too crazy.

I just want to try a set to be able to try this crazy tall gear and see what the results will be with the three speed. If they work I will get a set of pro gears in that ballpark. The gears will end up in my '76 f100 if they can survive one test-n-tune day.

Got the nascar gears today, they are polished to a mirror shine. They don't show any type of wear or overheating they are almost to pretty to use.
