YEP ... I was one of those people who got evicted from storing some things there in 1999 and the city sure screwed that up for a lot of people. The city government claimed it was a condemned building and would come tumbling down on somebody. That building has gotten a bunch worse in the last 12 years and still nothing has come crumbling down.
The back separate building probably was the biggest proponent to the USA winning Pacific World War II. It was erected in 1940, (later sold to Essex Wire Company after the war), specifically for building over 55,000 of those Packard/Rolls Merlin engines for airplanes and boats used by the federal branches of the military at NO profit to Packard and almost NOBODY even remembers.
There sure are a lot of "Historical Sites" and Buildings in the USA which got rebuilt because of somebody's politics but, none deserve it any more than Packard.
What a shame...!!!
