plasma cutters ????
Im looking at possibly buying a plasma cutter,I do not need one that will cut anything more then a 1/4" or so. I really can't afford $1000.00-1500.00 for a brand name cutter , Does anyone have any suggestions on a cheap plasma cutter?

I saved the link to my favorites, I was looking at getting a Lincoln Pro Cut 25 but that unit is almost $400 less. I do wonder about replacement parts on something like that though can I go down to the local Welders Supply store if I need parts?

Most welding supply stores carry PC parts in stock for the name brand cutters.

This is going to be your best bet for a quality name brand at a good price.

I would look at the Schumacher Electric offerings.
You have to call 'em because they are not on their web site.
I think they have a confidentiality agreement with J.C. Whitney.

I wouldn't go too cheap on buying one . You'll want one that's going to last and give you good service. In my shop I have an HTP Microcut 625 that I bought over 15 years ago without a minutes trouble. The only money I spent on it is for consumables, and I always order plenty so I'm never without. Mine will make a quality cut through 5/8" thick steel and a severance cut through 3/4", power is adjustable so you can dial it way down for thin sheet-metal. They do make a smaller and larger model than mine.
Re: plasma cutters ????
I've used many brands and I prefer Hypertherm. The machines last and more importantly the consumables last the longest. It is the cost of the consumables that will bite you with the "cheaper" machines.
