My First PRI Exhibit Experience
I just got back to the world headquarters of Keith Fulp Motorsports...got unloaded from the Atlanta/Orlando trip and...while sipping a cool Pabst Blue Ribbon...was thinking about my first experience of being an exhibitor.
It was a LOT of work!
The process of deciding what to put in my tiny 10'x10' booth....how to display it...how to arrange it..how to haul it in and out of the convention center, was pretty much fun. All of my display hardware was home made here in GA in the KFM shop and at Engine Systems. I was completely outclassed by the really nice ($$) professional displays that many of the other vendors had, but was still pretty happy with how it all looked.
They wanted $300 to "rent" carpet, so after a trip to Home Depot and about $85, I was set with my own. No getting around the electricity deal. It costs about $190 for a little outlet. They tried to charge me for an extension cord, but finally gave in and just let me borrow it.
Getting everything unloaded was a tedious process, but the people at the Orange County Convention Center really were nice and patient with me blocking a loading dock with the old F350 for a while.
The show days were really great. I met so many cool people....and talked with a LOT of hard core BBF racers.
Heck...I even got a new order for making a couple of motor plates for 409 Chevys!
Down side...I never really got to see the show. My buddy Ted from Engine Systems was a big help, along with his pal Roy, but I didn't want to miss out on anything at my booth.
Next year the show will be in Indy, and I already have plans to be there. Plans for a Big Block Ford area have begun with a couple other folks that have expressed interest. If I am lucky, maybe Lem and Charlie will be there to sign autographs!
I won't make it to IMIS at Indy, but I bet it will be a great show next week.
Here is what I ended up with.

Keith,
There was nothing wrong with your display, It's the products and services that count !
Next year, we need to use your display as a meeting point for all our forum brothers..
Good job !

Thanks guys!
Yeah...the BBF Lounge would be cool.
Some of the mega displays had leather couch areas for hanging out.

You don't even want to know what the whole deal ended up costing.....
Hopefully, down the line...some of the contacts may pay off in good business deals.
I may even have some of my things on display at IMIS this week, if my plan works.
Thanks All!
