65 Years

Just got this email about my old home town track that I grow up 20 mins.from.

Man that sucks, any reason why?

Seems to be a bunch of them closing lately.

I haven't heard, but when I still lived up there the town was trying to close them down for years and they had to be done buy 11pm.
that and the land now is worth $$$.

I sure hate to hear about tracks shutting down.
I have a couple if friends that operate drag strips and from what I gather, it is not a glamorous job.
Many variables like weather, insurance, labor costs, constant maintenance and competition can make it tough.
The turn out rate for a major race can either make it break the entire year for the business.
