460 flattops?
A good buddy of mine (a Chevy guy) tore down a 460 out of a boat that had a cracked block (D9TE). Talked to him last night and he said it had flattop pistons with one valve relief. Did Ford put flattops in a D9TE Marine engine or had it been worked on before. It's not a performance boat at all and he said he don't know much about it but thought it was original to the boat. He said he didn't know which heads it had?
Thanks.

YES ... and they are forged pistons, also.

Those pistons were also used in some industrial irrigation engines too. If I remember right, they were rated about 15hp more than the low compression version.
