No John....March is all wiped out by a Lucas Oil race in Gainesville FL and then the GatorNationals for some S/C action.
Gotta make parts the rest of the month, and start on the aluminum 645
Thanks,
Keith

Custom... I will be racing in Gainesville that weekend.
Some day I might try Open Comp. But there always seems to be schedule clash on those events.
Thanks,

Yeah...S/C
It is a lot more fun letting it run kinda wide open.
Tired of the throttle stop for a while.

Update on the 618.
Over 300 runs and overdue for inspection of the Crower EnduraMax .937" bushing type lifters.
Pulled the lifters, inspected and put them right back in.
The engine had experienced wear on the upper pushrod balls, so I have a new set of Manton pushrods on the way with their tool steel tips. I will also install Manton tool steel adjusters in the rockers.
Contemplating the use of a different oil. Lucas 20-50 has served well, but I may look in to something to help with the pushrod top.
Although the PSI 1249 valve springs looked fine and had adequate seat pressure, I replaced them just due to the number of runs and dyno pulls.
All seems clean and happy inside.

How do you think it would have done with VP Q16 instead of the VP C14?

No 2 engines are the same, but typical gains with that type fuel is between 1% and 4%.

Windsor
The old 618 is still doing fine. I need to dust it off and get ready for the NHRA Southern Nationals in a few weeks.
i have most of the parts for my next build, which will be similar but with a 4.75 stroke, a few more CFMs and a BIG cam. 652 inch.
