I have used the M/T ET streets without tubes in the past ,but was just wanting to know if I should start using the tubes ?
I also was wanting to know if I should use the wheel screws as well ?

Running Cal Tracs and a 15X10 wheel with 4.11 gear, so which would be better to run ? 28/11.50 or 28/12.50 tire ?

Et streets are stiff sidewall. Unless they've changed.

when you install the screws, make sure they are opposite each other in the rim. race pages had a great article by dave morgan on this.

I have a set of MT tubes sitting here. I used them behind a set of 28X13.5 15 ET streets. They are in the garage and out of the sun. Put them on CL a while back but no calls. They are yours free if you come get them....I'm on a radial now.

Re: Tube or no tube ?
You need stiff side wall, tubes, when you run a heavy car, big torque, or both. Screws are just a good safety idea regardless of power.
As speed increases the tire narrows and pulls the bead inward trying to unseat. Low air pressure adds to this problem.
Your Fairlane with the big block and a three speed would be where you would need screws and tubes or a stiff wall.
I ran tubes and screws with a 12 inch rim at 13 1/2 to 14 lbs of air when I ran my 28x10.5 Micky's regular sidewall.
Hopes this helps..........

It does help , I just have to do some more home work to see if the 28/12.50s will fit the wheel well . I know the 28/11.50s fit.
Thanks Whitey

Re: Tube or no tube ?
You originally posted about et streets. Those are all stiff sidewalls and are rated differently than the et drags. The 28-12.5's measure the same as the 28-10.5 slicks. Unless you have a strange wheel backspace you will have a lot of room.

Yes I am going to run the et streets 28/11.50 Not the drag or drag radial 28/11.50 et street is what I had on the car before . long story short I took the car apart and I am hoping that I rememberd and orderd the right back spacing.! I hope there is enough room for the 28/12.50.

Re: Tube or no tube ?
8 per side unless you are running high hp heavy car on a wider rim, then I would add more.
