Did you use one of those pack and ship places.. I found out last x-mas that you pay for there services which is pretty pricey. I dropped off a box for a return all wrapped up and had the return labeling on the box already and she charged me 20.85 to ship it. I thought it was a little high then when I did a check on it I could have shipped it from my home with Fedex picking it up for 10.50 , when I called and questioned it she said , well I have to get paid for being here. So her share was 10.35 for me dropping it off there. Told her I won't make that mistake again.

I'm a UPS driver and I can tell you.....unless you were sending them overnight by air, there is no way it would cost $200.
There must have been some miscommunication somewhere. Question Question
Did you go to a UPS store or an actual UPS center?

I just shipped an engine block from Iowa to PA, 311# on a pallet. Shipped it with Old Dominion Freight Lines. Sent it Monday and it was delivered on Thursday. Cost a touch more than they quoted me($100 vs. $120), but not a deal breaker. Someone made a big mistake if your headers were $200... Idea

UPS will be tough to beat on pricing. An important approach to shipping is understanding the carrier's guidelines for shipping, i.e; package size (dimensions) and of course weight and contents. Shop it around, UPS or FedEx would be your best choice as long as you can meet their shipping guidelines.

Dave.

You can save yourself some money by registering with UPS and printing your own labels at home.

If under 70lbs I go with usps. I sent a set of crites headers from IL to AZ last year for $65.
If over 70lbs I go with R&L. I sent my c4 from IL to MD last month for $140.
