Skinnies on the street?
Is it a bad idea? I was looking at a set for the f100 that I'll drive to cruises but race when I can, I didn't know if they would hold up to the truck's weight and if I should get some wider ones for the front.
Looking at these if possible:

Maybe these are better, but I'm still a bit heavy for them:

And here are the bigger ones:

Never used skinnies before, would it get sketchy on the street?

Go with the 70s or 75s on the front the skinny tire don;t work good on the street not alot tire on the pavement for stopping in a hurry or in the rain.

I ran those little Moroso skinnies on my Pinto for years on the street and never had a problem. Just buy a tire big enough for your weight and I think you will be fine.

I ran skinnys on the 69 for years, and plan on running a set on my 64 f100 also, just make sure the tire and wheel are both adequate for this type of use.

Kelly and a couple others make radials that are really narrow for the street.

The only problem you may run into with any other tire than say a MT tire is height. A lot of passenger car skinny tires are also short.

I ran some 15x3.5 wheels and a 165/15 radial Kelly tire up front and they don't stop OR TURN worth a shit WHEN NEEDED... Other than that I had no issues

I'll suck it up and run the wider ones and know I'm good. Hate the extra weight but it's still a heavy azz truck Thanks for the help guys, should be ordering up a bunch this week

For a truck, a 215/75r15 , along with a 6" wide wheel is the most popular choice.
It's the best compromise between width, height & load rating for pick-ups.
