Absolutely senseless Empty Absolutely senseless

Post  schmitty February 10th 2013, 11:04 pm

Got word that a friend of mine decided that suicide was the only way out. He left a loving family behind to pick up the pieces that he left behind. I talked to several mutual friends and no one knows what made him do it. This will be the 4th funeral I've been to this year so far, and that is way too many. Sad

Man, that sucks Rob... Sounds like a bad weekend for several of us... I think suicide is not only an easy out for those that do it, but it's also the most selfish, thoughtless, and cowardly process of death on the planet. To me, these people obviously don't think about the hardships they put on their families & friends when they opt for the easy out. IMO, the people that do this are not the victims, their friends and families are. Because they're left wondering What, Why, and, How? Where the "victim" just left... To be honest, my sister-in-law caught my mom a few weeks ago with a pistol in hand... There's nothing we can do most of the time until it's too late. But luckily mom was busted (so to speak) beforehand. Now there are no firearms on their premises. I've lost classmates, other family members, and family friends to suicide, and they are all still missed regardless, but I just don't understand how anything in life can be so bad to cause people to be so thoughtless...?

Just my thoughts...

Sorry to hear that. Some people just get so overwhelmed that they feel they can't escape whatever the problem is. It's not somthing that's easy to understand.

I stopped at the local coffee shop this morning and had a short visit with this kids dad. We didn't talk about his son yet, but I know that he's hurting pretty bad. The friends and family are the ones who are left to pick up all of the broken pieces and deal with both a loss of a loved one and friend, and wonder if there was anything they could have done. About 3 years after I graduated from High School, I had a classmate do the same thing. His parents still deal with it every day. What a selfish way to deal with life's problems.

The worst thing to deal with is what others say and they don't know the situation, or in real life the name of your loved one comes up...
Or a song that reminds you of them,
Sporting events they loved to attend
just anything can set off memories, good or bad.

"did your mother have any kids that lived?"
"I bet youre an only child?"

When someone takes their own life they don't realize how many other lives they effect. Maybe if they would just talk to someone, such a drastic decision could be avoided.

It's NOT the easy way out like they think. Real trouble just started. It's really a shame. Sad
