Re: Will a FORD ever......
Always been a big pro stock and pro mod nitrous fan. I only watch the NHRA show for pro stock and I'm having to hope a Ford gets in the show. I will pull for Dodge after Ford is out, I'm not pulling for any junk pile chebbies!
Re: Will a FORD ever......
Love the Pro Stocks, also love the Super Stocks. They can have the Fuelies and Funny cars, and those damn delay box pos .
And I feel the same about the Dodge Boys...and the bowtie boys
They need to put the Stock back in Pro Stock, Production Bodies and Factory avalaible engines. bring it back to innovation over money..... at least it would be cool for a few years.
This has been my thoughts for a long time. It would bring back brand loyality.

Re: Will a FORD ever......
Ford has become too Mustang obsessed. Everything revolves around the endless versions of one car. I've been yelling at the reps for years to slim down that portly F-150 and build a new Lightning, something a real person can play with. weights and accessories piled on hurt the performance of these vehicles. I can't believe how much physically larger and much heavier my 2004 lightning is than my 1955 F100. Not only is the 55 shorter & narrower, it's nearly 1500 lbs lighter by factory numbers. 3240 lbs vs 4700. As for NHRA Pro Stock, the Fords need 3-4 mph more to be in the chase. Ford could help, but sits on their hands instead. Not a good image to us looking for performance, it makes us look harder at other brands, gear heads look at all the details, a cars looks alone will not close the sale. And don't get me started on NASCAR, I'd rather watch the floats race in the Macy's parade....

Although I love Mustangs, I'll have to agree with you. A performance oriented truck would be nice. Also, why not a 'Hot Rod Lincoln' . GM has a 500+ horsepower Cadilac, Ford could at least offer a Lincoln with a Coyote motor option .

There is no excuse for FORD not getting in Pro-Stock. The dickheads at the top just dont want to. There are in every other type of racing. Take some of Force's money and let the Pro Stock boys have a little. Heck, even the Obama ran GM still is supporting Pro-Stock.
