I remember that live ... Mercure lost in the final of Modified on a red light and Mannarino lost to Grumpy's Toy, (with someone else driving), in the semis of Pro Stock.
My memory is skewed about the rest of the event as I was there with my friends.

That's cool stuff. The coverage was so much better than what we get now. I didn't remember John Lingenfelter racing a Ford powered Monza. Pretty neat.

W0W,where were sfi apparel back then.That pinto driver didn't have any gloves or any
thing.

I enjoyed that though.
They were not going fast enough yet, The Pro Stockers were still up in the high 8's with AA Fuel dragsters going in the 6's.
Of course we though it was REALLY fast back then,

Pro stock....where racers spend $25000 to transform these cars.... A smidge less than todays cars..hahaha

Loved it, brought back some fond memories. That was when Pro Stock was cool and had steel bodies. Wish they were built like that now, at least with a steel shell.
