kaase oil pump studs
I just purchased a oil pump from a member here and they had happen to miss place the studs. So i called Kaase. There answer was we only sell them with the oil pump. The only information he would give me was they are ARP. Thats it. So does anybody have any to sell or even give me the dimension so i can call ARP and see what they can get for me.
Last this is a dual pick up. If i remove the plate from the top do i just use the same plate over the bottom. It has excess metal the covers the hoe for the spring pressure hole. Is there still some sort of devise the holds the plug in?

Re: kaase oil pump studs
Ace,
I had the first Kaase pump put in service, before they ever made up a stud kit for them. Just go to the local automotive parts store and get some 3/8" Dorman studs the correct lenght. I THINK they were about 3.00" long. The Dorman studs are grade 8 and are for exhaust systems, connecting the exhaust pipes to the cast iron manifolds of production cars. Then I used a 3/8" 12 pt. fine thread nuts, that were actually from an old Buick stock connecting rod. It's still doing fine after 5 years in use. No need to make this stuff difficult.

Greg, My pickup flange was made to cover the plug as well. Maybe you could do that? As for the studs. I've been looking and still haven't found them.

I didn't think the threads in the oil pump holes were fine thread? I was hoping someone here had a set to measure from to save me some time. when it comes to hardware i make 3-4 trips for one thing.
John. I wasn't sure what Kaase did under the plate and have not taken it apart yet to see. I remember some pick ups having a small tab on one side that may have been to hold that plug now that its been brought up.
I'm going to take the pan off of my 555 motor tomorrow and check the pump as its been doing some funny things late last summer.

Awesome...!
I had a solid 80lbs cold and 65 hot with that pump. The tolerances were on the high side but not out of spec. Those pumps impress me...
